The most famous mountain lake in the High Tatras at 1,346 m altitude. Nearly 20 hectares, 640 m long, 600 m wide. Starting point for Rysy (2,503 m) and Skok Waterfall, in winter the highest public ice rink in Slovakia.

Lake circuit walk

The nature trail around Štrbské Pleso is about 1.5 km and suitable for everyone. Takes 30-40 minutes with beautiful views. Ideal family outing.

Hiking trails

Skok Waterfall (1 h, easy) - one of the most beautiful Tatra waterfalls. Popradské pleso (1 h, easy). Rysy (4-5 h ascent, demanding) - highest point of Poland (2,503 m), requires excellent fitness and stable weather.

How to get there

Štrbské Pleso is 25 km from Vila Garufa. Our shuttle takes you there in 25 minutes. The historic rack railway from Štrba (since 1896) is an experience in itself. Parking is paid.

Winter

The frozen lake becomes Slovakia's highest public ice rink. Ski slopes and cross-country trails nearby.

  • Skok Waterfall - ideal family trip, easy terrain
  • Attempt Rysy only in stable weather with good fitness
  • Shuttle bus is easier than paid parking
