Hrebienok (1,285 m) is the most accessible hiking point in the High Tatras. The historic funicular from Starý Smokovec (built 1908) takes you up in 8 minutes. From there, trails lead to Cold Stream, waterfalls, and the Small and Great Cold valleys.

The historic ground cable car from Starý Smokovec has been running since 1908. The ride takes about 8 minutes covering 255 m of elevation. Runs year-round. Alternatively, walk up the asphalt road (45 min). A 4.2 km barrier-free trail is available for mobility-impaired visitors.
From Hrebienok, a green-marked trail leads to the Cold Stream Waterfalls (about 45 min, 200 m elevation, easy). These are among the most beautiful waterfalls in the Tatras. The trail continues to Téryho Chata hut below Lomnický štít.
In winter, the Tatra Ice Dome features illuminated ice sculptures. The famous illuminated toboggan run (since 1959) descends from Hrebienok to Starý Smokovec. Ski lifts and cross-country trails are nearby.
Starý Smokovec is 8 km from Vila Garufa. Our shuttle bus takes you directly to the funicular station. Journey takes 10 minutes.
